Pneuma Szöv. ist ein 2008 in Budapest gegründetes offenes Netzwerk, eine offene Genossenschaft (auf ungarisch „Szövetkezet“, die Abkürzung Szöv. ist mehrdeutig und verweist auf Text (szöveg), Textur (szövet), Bündnis (szövetség), die sich als soziale Utopie begreift.

Sie schafft Raum zu schaffen.

Entstehung

Entstanden ist das Netzwerk 2008, als leerstehende Büroräume des Budapester Corvin Warenhauses von Künstlern, Sozialwissenschaftlern, Freunden und Dazustoßenden als eine geheime Luftfabrik in Betrieb genommen wurden, welche sich als aktive, partizipative Institution mit der Budapester Luftverschmutzung und mit der unsichtbaren Beeinflussung der Gesellschaft auseinandersetzte.

Pneuma Szöv. ist im achten Stadtbezirk Budapests (Josefstadt) lokalisiert, wo sein wachsendes Netzwerk aus Aktivisten, Künstlern, Obdachlosen, obdachlosen Schriftstellern, weißen Mittelklassekünstlern, Romakindern, Nachbarn und Passanten performative Aktionen und autonome Nachrichtenkanäle organisiert und damit zum Modell einer offenen und solidarischen Gemeinschaft wird, die sich aktiv mit ihrer eigenen Lebensumgebung auseinandersetzt und kleine Schritte unternimmt um sie zu verändern und sie in Bewegung zu bringen.

Sarah Günther – concept, artistic leadership, performative coordination & background research
Sarah (*1983 in Dresden) is a free director and performance artist living between Budapest and Germany. She is co-founder of Pneuma Szöv. (2008) and initiator of Lufthase (2008) and the 20 forint operetta (2012-2014). Sarah holds a MA in Applied Theatre Studies in Gießen. She is also founder of the German collective Mobile Albania, gives workshops and writes about performance and public art and is attached to critical space practise.

Viktor Markos – concept, digital design, sociopolitical & historical research, music
Viktor (*1978 in Budapest) holds a Master in history and politics, he is co-founder of Pneuma Szöv. and works beside as a freelance video artist and operator.

Luca Szabados – concept, visual design and background research
Luca (1989 in Budapest) is a freelance costume- and set designer and co-founder of Pneuma Szöv. She works for theatre, contemporary dance, theatre-in-education and experimental audio-visual performances. She also runs a small for handmade toys and accessoires for babies and kids.

Zsuzsa Berecz – concept, dramaturgy, background research, network building
Zsuzsa (*1980 in Budapest) is freelance dramatuge, translator, as well as curator/coordinator of international artistic and local community projects, founding member of Pneuma Szöv.

Dorka Esze – concept, art mediation, drawing
Dorka (*1990 in Budapest) works as an art-teacher and gives art-workshops for children. She holds a BA in „special education“. She is a stable member of Pneuma since 2012.

Csilla Horváth – conceptional cowork, texts, performer
Csilla (*1958 in Budapest) is an important conceptional voice in Pneuma Szöv. since 2012. She was homeless for several years and works today in a homeless shelter in the 8th district. Besides her work she writes songs and texts and is involved in the Homeless Activist team „The City is for All“.
„I lost my flat, though I am living in one now, I am mostly homeless. I work, I create, if it works. I love to give, if there is from what. My geniality is a common treasure.“

Gábor Rejtő – lyrics, music
Gábor (*1951 in Budapest) is a poet, former journalist and street musician who deals privately and in his texts with the issue of socio-economical injustice and fights for free street music in Budapest. He is a collaborator of Pneuma Szöv. since 2012.

Viktoria Makra – performer, puppetry
Viktoria (*1987 in Budapest) holds a degree in acting and puppetry of the Budapest Theatre University. She works as a freelancer in pieces of Robert Alföldi and also in international puppet shows. She offers puppet workshops and works as performer in Pneuma since 2012.

Rozi Székely – performer
Rozi works as a professional theater and film actress. She works with Hungarian directors like Kornél Mundruczó and Viktor Bodó, one of her recent film roles was in the Son of Saul. Rozi joined Pneuma as a performer in 2014.

Kornél Laboda – performer and writer
Kornél (*1984 in Siklos) works as a freelance director, dramaturg, writer and performer in Hungarian theaters. He holds a MA in Dramaturgy and Directing of the Budapest Theater University. He is joining Pneuma in 2016.

Barbara Hegedűs – performer and musician
Barbara (*1986 in Budapest) works as a professional actress in Budapest theaters like Trafo and Vig Theater. She joins Pneuma in 2016 as a performer for the Street TV.

Panni Néder – performer
Panni (*1990 in Budapest) studied directing in Budapest and Berlin and works as a freelance director in different Budapest and Berlin theaters. She joined Pneuma in 2016 with the urge of trying-out performance and connecting to social movements in Hungary.

Imre Vass – performer, choreographer, dancer
Imre (*1982 in Budapest) works as a professional dancer and choreographer between Budapest and Scandinavia. He collaborated with Pneuma in a walking workshop through the 8th district in 2013 and contributed to the local newspaper „The Eighth Sea” with an article about movement forms in public space.

Csilla Hódi – visual artist, performer
Csilla holds a MA of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and works and realizes collaborative and solo artworks. She invented 2013 the „beggar yoga“ as a reaction to discriminative politics against homeless people. Csilla joined the Pneuma network in 2013.

Bélamühely – sound, music group
Bélamühely is an epxerimental band who builds their instruments out of industrial trash. They also developed korepetition workshops where they include people to make music together. Bélamühely is a guest of Pneuma in 2016 and took mainly part in 2012 as a responsible actor for the musical part of the 20-Forint-Operetta.

Lajos Bodis – sociologist, local activist
Lajos (*1966 in Budapest) is a lecturer at the Corvinus University with a focus on sociology and education policies. He is a constant follower of Pneuma, contributor to the local newspaper „The Eighth Sea”, a precious advisor as well as a connector to local activism and to the Corvinus University Budapest.

Hintergrundgeschichte

Sarah Günther kam zunächst als Touristin nach Budapest, dann als Austauschstudentin der Budapester Theater- und Filmhochschule. Nach einer Assistenz bei dem Krétakör Theater hat sie 2008 das Projekt LUFTHASE mit Freunden, Künstlern, Sozialwissenschaftlern und Luftexperten in Budapest entwickelt. Sie haben die leerstehenden Büroräume des Corvin Warenhauses als eine geheime Luftfabrik in Betrieb genommen wurden, welche sich als fiktive, partizipative Institution mit der Budapester Luftverschmutzung und mit der unsichtbaren Beeinflussung der Gesellschaft auseinandersetzte. Durch LUFTHASE hat sich das Netzwerk „Pneuma Szöv.” etabliert, das durch kreative Arbeit künstlerisch-gemeinschaftliche Projekte realisiert, die sich innerhalb eines sozialpolitischen Kontexts situieren und viele Projekte im Feld der Performanceszene in Ungarn inspiriert haben.
